Persons working on sponsored projects administered through the Office of Sponsored Programs are employed in accordance with the policies and guidelines contained in the Ohio State University Operating Manual. The additional guidelines presented here are provided to assist in the preparation of appointments and related personnel/payroll documents.
All employment appointments on sponsored projects must be entered in the university Human Resources System. Each department has a human resources professional who has the ability to enter employee data and appointment information into the system. Refer to the Human Resources ASSIST pages for entering personnel.
For sponsored projects appointments, the job earnings distribution must include:
- Org (the employee’s five-digit department number)
- Fund (590000)
- Project (a valid six-digit number beginning with the number 7 or a valid eight-digit number beginning with the number 6.)
